Join us at the Loaf this Sunday to celebrate Fathe...
We pride ourselves on our cask ales to ensure a rich and smooth taste in every pint. We like to make sure that we always have a wide selection of ales on so that all tastes are met! We always have on our two house ales (see below) and then we also like to make sure that we have on two guest ales of which we use various breweries depending on what ales they are running at the time. We like to try and keep our guest ales local and Welsh where possible but we do like to throw the odd one in from some of the great English breweries out there. As well as our cask ales we also now offer a cask cider, this changes regularly so just ask at the bar if you would like to know what the cider is or if you would like to try it.
CASK ALES
Courage Directors Bitter 4.8%
Directors is sought out by discerning drinkers who appreciate its subtle balance of bitter English Target hops and sweet, burnt Ale and Crystal malts; a subtly of flavour rare in such a full bodied ale.
Conwy Brewery - Welsh Pride/Balchder Cymru 4.0%
A copper coloured bitter with a well balanced blend of malt & hops. An initial rich, malty mouthfeel is rounded off by tasty orangey / zesty hops and a touch of spice.
GUEST BREWERIES
Please find below a few of the guest breweries that we like to feature at the Loaf:
Great Orme Brewery - The Great Orme Brewery was established in November 2005 and is situated on a hillside in the Conwy Valley between Llandudno and Betws-y-Coed, with commanding views of the Conwy Estuary and the Great Orme, from which the brewery takes its name. With a growing reputation for producing quality real ale, our beer is quickly being adopted as a permanent fixture in some of the finest pubs, restaurants and hotels in North Wales.
Bragdy Nant Brewery - Bragdy Nant Brewery was founded in October 2007 by a partnership of ale lovers with a passion for producing good beer.
Facers Brewery - Facer's Brewery supplies quality, hand crafted real ales across North Wales and North West England, they are also the only Brewery in Flintshire. Dave Facer started his own brewery in Salford, Greater Manchester in February 2003, sharing premises and equipment with Bazens' Brewery, which had itself started a few months earlier. In 2005 Dave and wife Annette decided to move home (and hence brewery) to Flintshire. The new Facer's Brewery started production in Flint in February 2006.
Wrexham Lager - Wrexham lager is Britain’s oldest lager brew. The brewery was originally founded in 1882 by German immigrants(Ivan Levinstein & Otto Isler) trying to recreate the lager taste that they missed from their homeland. Wrexham Lager is back. Since the sad day that it closed in 2000 we know that a lot of people have missed the original great taste of Wrexham Lager and now after 10 years absence that great taste is back.
Brewed in a brand new micro brewery in Wrexham, Ian Dale the former head of brewing at the old Wrexham Lager plant is also back and brewing the lager using the original recipe and the same ingredients combined with modern machinery to deliver Wrexham Lager as it was best loved and brewed over 100 years ago.
